2026–2027 Rotary Club Presidential Presentation Summary

1. Core Vision: "Operational Evolution"

• The Philosophy: It is not about reinventing the wheel, but rather honoring the club’s incredible 100+ year history while building for the future through "Service Above Self."

• Modernizing Operations: A major focus will be updating the club's website and expanding its social media presence (Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram).

• Role Splitting: To manage the workload, the plan is to split responsibilities between two individuals—one focusing on social media marketing and the other handling technology/website management.

2. Membership & Retention Goals

• Growth Target: A target has been set to bring in 10 new members over the coming year.

• The "Buddy System": To ensure new members feel overwhelmingly welcomed and stay with the club, a formal mentorship/buddy system will be developed.

• "Who Was I" Talks: Larry suggested introducing "reclassification talks" for veteran members (like Murray, who has been there for 50% of the club's history) to share their personal Rotary journeys and inspire newer members.

3. Fundraising & Financial Strategy

• Successful Initiatives: The club will continue to build on low-manpower, high-return events like the online auction and the "Shine the Light" project.

• The Budget Challenge: The immediate focus for the next month is putting together a realistic budget that balances expenses with fundraising numbers. The board will email details soon, aiming for a club vote in the fall.

• Treasury Transition: Strong financial reporting remains a priority as the club prepares for an exciting transition of the Treasurer role.

4. Key Dates & Fellowship Events

• August: Upcoming Club Barbecue (focused on fellowship, funded through membership/social funds).
