President Keith opened wearing his cherished Calgary Cowboy hat. (cowperson , cowhand to be politically correct). He acknowledged that we are on traditional lands and the wisdom of our first nations. Brayden did the 4 way test and Paul M did the Innvocation. We toasted Rotary and our fine country.

Lina and Tracey have Two Year Rotary Birthdays this week.

President Keith: Tracey is stepping down from chair of Community Service. It is an interesting area of Rotary. Committee is in place and an interesting part of our service. After 15 years of being ' Speaker Seeker', Larry Brokenshire is stepping down. Larry has done a fabulous job. Not to scare anyone away but Larry has also kept an eye on behind the scenes stuff like speaker bios, power points and unruly bulletin editors.
Good News: Paul McMenemy: looking forward to a visit from his grandsons this weekend.
Paul Cody is officially moved in with help from Todd and Clayton. Something about the Chamber of Commerce I missed. Hey Paul, did you get your Welcome Wagon Kit? Does anybody remember this? Is it still on?
Randy Cole thanked Paul Cody taking them to the Hearts of Ice Championship. Also we maybe seeing more of Randy in the flesh due to job changes.
Todd and Mike Thomas ( former club member) were down windsurfing. Todd said that he was one of the youngest persons on a board. Amazing. Some of those surfers have been out there a long time.
Then Pres. Keith showed a video about an interesting part of Rotary. You can join all sorts of Rotary Interest Groups....golf, rock collecting, fly tying etc.

As mentioned we need a new chair of Community Service and a Speaker Seeker.
Lina introduced our speaker, Andrea Clendening, here to speak to us about the life and times of her Rotary Club in Paris Ontario. Of course, she is Murry and Ida Pearson's daughter. She is a Real Estate Broker and co-founder of the River Realty team.
She grew up attending Rotary and Lion's Club meetings. She is well versed in the community impact of Service clubs and grew up in a family committed to Community Service.
She is an active member of the Paris Satellite Rotary Club and the Paris Lion's Club. She is married , Lives in Paris and has two children. Her Rotary club has 18 members. It is a younger club and they do more social outings. They meet once per month. They have been involved in a local Art Gallery, A blood donor drive, food drive, adopt a Road, Maple Syrup festival and the Duck Race on the Nith River in Paris./
She spoke in detail about the Duck Race and answered our questions. They rented 800 ducks the first year. Maybe more next time. They raised 16 G. There were some vendors,food truck and a 50/50 draw. Some licences were needed but the GRCA did not seem to care.

Todd spoke about our proposed Duck Race. Some hurdles still I think. It may occur as part of a Cambridge City event. It is a work in progress. My apologies, Todd, for my ' out of the box' thoughts on the subject of duck racing.
